Rail transit

Since the 1980s, when railway bearings began domestic production in China, TMB’s predecessor, Chengdu Bearing Group, has focused on R&D and manufacturing of rail transit bearings. Aligning with national strategies, TMB now provides bearings for freight trains, passenger trains, metro systems, regional trains, and trams, covering all critical bearings in vehicle bogies: axle box bearings, gearbox bearings, and traction motor bearings.

In 2019, TMB completed the development of high-speed train bearings and passed a rigorous 2.4 million-kilometer bench test at 385 km/h, marking a milestone in China’s high-speed rail bearing localization.

Axle Box Bearings

Function: Connect wheelsets to primary suspensions, transmitting forces and moments for smooth rotation and motion.
Features:

Maintenance-free design: Pre-lubricated, dual-sealed units with a service life of 1.2 million km or 8 years (whichever comes first).

Precision: ≥P5 accuracy grade.

Enhanced durability: Special heat treatment for shock and vibration resistance.

Energy-efficient: Low-friction design reduces torque.

Optimized stress distribution: Curved roller profiles minimize surface stress.

Gearbox Bearings

Application: Bearings in gearboxes fix shafts and withstand extreme loads from gear meshing forces. Common types include tapered roller bearings, four-point contact ball bearings, and cylindrical roller bearings.
Requirements: High speed, heavy load capacity, vibration/shock resistance, high-temperature tolerance, precision, and compact design.
Features:

Premium materials and reinforced internal structures.

Custom cage designs.

Optimized raceway profiles and internal clearances.

Anti-rotation slots to secure outer rings.

Higher operational speeds with reduced operating temperatures.

Traction Motor Bearings

Application: Support motor shafts, withstand rotor weight, and ensure reliable operation under frequent starts, vibrations, and electrical currents.
Key Features:

High insulation: Reduced porosity, thicker insulating coatings, and precision machining to block shaft currents.

Performance: Low noise, high-speed capability, impact resistance, and extended lifespan.

Automotive Bearings

TMB’s Extra Series bearings for transmissions, drive motors, and axles use advanced materials and technologies to deliver 3x longer life and speeds exceeding 12,000 rpm. Already deployed in new energy passenger and commercial vehicles, these bearings set new benchmarks for precision and durability.
