On February 21, 2022, at 11 a.m., the first section of Hangzhou Metro Line 3, the second phase of Line 4, and the first section of Line 10 were simultaneously opened for operation. Among them, Hangzhou Metro Line 3 and the second phase of Line 4 are fully equipped with axle box bearings independently developed and produced by Tianma Bearings. This is the first time that domestic subways have fully equipped their entire line with domestically produced axle box bearings. This marks that domestic subway axle box bearings have the strength to replace imported bearings, breaking the situation where domestic subway axle box bearings rely entirely on imports, which is of great significance for promoting the localization of subway axle box bearings in China.

Domestic subways have always relied on imported subway axle box bearings. Tianma Bearings began developing subway axle box bearings in 2011 and has now supplied them to main engine manufacturers such as Nanjing Puzhen and CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive. It has also provided batches of new axle box bearings independently developed and produced by Tianma Bearings for projects such as Hangzhou Line 1, Line 3, the second phase of Line 4, and the airport rail express line. Additionally, it has carried out subway axle box bearing maintenance services in cities such as Shanghai, Kunming, Tianjin, Harbin, Wuhan, and Fuzhou.
